Gate is the starting point of our Nation. As a Gate Volunteer you will assist with registration, greeting members of the populace, checking in vendors and their assistants, and directing everyone to their camp or booth locations.
Positions: Desk, Cat Herder, Check in.
Desk: Assemble clip boards (used by the Check In volunteers) with Site Tokens, Wrist bands, Parking passes, and Animal Waiver forms. You are responsible for making sure these boards are ready at all times. This is an ADA accessible job. .
Cat Herder: Direct incoming vehicles into the correct lanes to be checked in. Ask for all attendees to have QR codes ready and all animal rabies vaccinations ready. This is an ADA accessible job.
Check In: Use a tablet to scan QR codes from ticket purchases, Check ID’s to verify age and ensure names match the QR code. Once attendee is verified, hand out site tokens and wristband. Ensure each attendee fills out parking pass and animal waiver forms. Collect rabies vaccination paperwork. This is a standing/walking position
Requirements:
- Customer Service skills
- Must be appropriately dressed at all times (no nakedness)
- Must be able to Multitask
- Be familiar with site and Staff locations
- Must be respectful to all diversities
- Must not show up inebriated to shift (Gate Lead can/will dismiss you and you will not be paid for your volunteer shift. The incident will be logged with the Volunteer Coordinator. If your shift was part of Land Grant hours, the Land Stewart will be made aware.)
