Scuttlebutt is the center of information for the event. Our goal is to also make it a gathering space, as we share space with titles and games. The role of the Scuttlebutt volunteer would be to act as a kind of host, offer refreshments, answer questions, help the heralds with announcements, maintain announcement board, write announcements, explain the map and the schedules, and to generally try to answer any questions event goers may have. If you cannot answer the question yourself, then you will use the radio to find someone who can. The ideal Scuttlebutt volunteer will be sociable, as they are required to communicate with anyone who comes in. Bonus points to anyone with hospitality or customer service experience. Legible handwriting is a must! Additionally, the volunteers monitor the ballot box for Defender of Nassau, and any other elections. They also maintain Lost and Found throughout the day. This is an ADA accessible position. Please try to reserve it for those with limited mobility.

Assistant: Pay 30ns
Duties: Help the Scuttlebutt lead answer questions about events, services, locations, and times of activities for the Nation
This position is mostly seated and stationary. Customer service skills and the ability to remain in one location for multiple hours recommended.

*All Volunteers should be prepared to check in at Volunteer Services 15 minutes prior to the start of their shift to allow time to check in and then make their way to their duty area.
